This book provides a history of England from the perspective of Charles Dickens’ most important and popular fictional writings. The emphasis will be on contextualising the writings, and on describing England in part from their perspective.
The first book will also be released in the UK by Amberley Publishing Publishing in early 2021.
Jeremy Black is Professor of History at the University of Exeter and a prolific lecturer and writer, with over 100 books to his name and the most sustained presentation of British history in recent decades. His interests include military history, British politics, newspaper and cartographic history, and international relations.
